The Japanning was very spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's factory recipe and baked it 5 times to set the Japanning. I has cleaned up the sole and sides and they are flat. I have sharpened the iron and it is razor sharp. I have also lapped the chip breaker and lever cap so they fit tight to the iron. The iron has the V logo on it, so it is from a later type 11 or 12. The knob and tote are in good shape and show their original patina. The knob is crack free. I did a repair on the horn of the tote. The previous owner did a bad repair on it and I had to pull the nails out and re-attach to the tote and it is strong now. There is some very minor pitting on the right side and the sole, look at the pictures. This plane would make a great shooting board plane. Condition: Used.
