At 24 inches long, the No. 8 is the largest of Stanley’s standard Bailey bench planes and one of the most desirable sizes among collectors and traditional woodworkers. This early example presents very nicely, retaining its classic appearance with a dark japanned body, hardwood handles, and traditional Bailey adjustment mechanisms. The rear tote has a repaired crack that is solid and fully operational. There sre no cracks or chips in the plane body or the frog. A sound worker.
