View Vintage West Germany Glass Swan Christmas Ornaments Pair Clip On Feather Tails with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Their long, sweeping necks and beautifully modeled bodies capture the unmistakable silhouette of a swan, while their reflective silvered glass surfaces provide a lovely contrast against the soft white wings. Thank you for visiting Art & Beautiful Things, where we enjoy finding and preserving beautiful pieces from the past. Vintage Christmas ornaments are especially wonderful because each one carries a little bit of holiday history with it.Offered here is a magnificent pair of vintage West German mercury-style silvered glass swan Christmas ornaments, beautifully fashioned with graceful curved necks, elongated orange beaks, hand-decorated white wings, shimmering gold glitter accents, and delicate feather tails. These are certainly not your typical vintage clip-on Christmas birds!Unlike the more familiar small songbirds commonly found among vintage glass Christmas decorations, these elegant swans have a wonderfully sculptural presence. Their long, sweeping necks and beautifully modeled bodies capture the unmistakable silhouette of a swan, while their reflective silvered glass surfaces provide a lovely contrast against the soft white wings. Each swan features hand-applied gold glitter outlining the feathers, tiny painted eyes, and an attached metal spring clip designed to secure the ornament to a Christmas tree branch. The feather tails add another layer of texture and movement to these already elaborate decorations.Although they share the same overall design and decorative palette, the two swans have slightly different forms, making them especially charming displayed together.Vintage West German glass ornaments are admired for their imaginative designs, traditional glassmaking techniques, and decorative craftsmanship. Figural birds have long been a favorite among collectors, and these beautifully proportioned swans offer a particularly sophisticated interpretation of the traditional clip-on bird ornament.Whether displayed together on a Christmas tree, incorporated into an antique holiday arrangement, or added to a collection of European glass ornaments, these swans are sure to attract attention.Sold together as a pair.MeasurementsApproximately 5–6 inches in length, depending on the swan, including the glass body and neck. Please refer to the photographs for individual measurements and size comparisons.ConditionVintage condition with age-related wear, including some silvering irregularities, minor paint wear, and wear to the decorative glitter consistent with age.One swan has damage to the glass at the tail, as shown in the photographs. This is reflected in the decision to offer the two ornaments together as a pair. Both retain their decorative metal clips and feather tail embellishments. Please examine all photographs carefully for details of their condition. These ornaments are sold as found. We do not repaint, restore, or replace original decorative components.Additional Christmas Items & BundlesWe have many other vintage Christmas ornaments available, including antique German glass ornaments, West German and Polish figurals, vintage clip-on birds, Shiny Brite, and other collectible holiday decorations. We are happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever safely possible.Thank you for visiting Art & Beautiful Things.
