DescriptionFender Japan TL-40M BLK/M Used Electric Guitar 1980This is a high-quality Fender Japan TL40M from the E-serial era, manufactured by the reputable Fujigen Musical Instruments. The TL40M, while positioned as a cost-effective standard model in the lineup at the time, boasts practical specifications that laid the foundation for the later TL-STD (Standard) series. It features an easy-to-handle basswood body combined with a maple neck, and a truss rod that can be easily adjusted from the headstock, making it highly functional and suitable for modern playing styles. Furthermore, it employs a "top-loading bridge" where the strings pass directly from the bridge end rather than through the back of the body.Compared to a standard string-through-body design, the string tension is moderately reduced, making bending and choking much easier, and it produces a pleasant, light attack and mild twang sound characteristic of top-loading bridges.
