EMG Dual Mode pickups house separate preamps and coils for a custom humbucker and single coil sound at your fingertips. In either mode, the clean sound is gorgeously pristine and with a lot of presence. Used equally in bridge and neck positions. Whether you are playing hard rock or jazz, you can get it all with this beautifully balanced and versatile pickup. The 89X is loaded with Alnico V magnets, the humbucker sound is rich, warm and powerful, but still clear and articulate, similar to the 85. The single coil mode, accessed via the included push pull pot, delivers the traditional Strat single coil sound: bright, airy, and chimey, and is very similar to the EMG SA. The X series preamp gives the pickup a more dynamic range along with increased headroom while keeping the more traditional string-to-string balance. X series pickups also come with an Active Tone Control (VLPF) designed to roll-off (attenuate) high frequencies, similar to a typical passive tone control. The result is a noiseless guitar pickup with a classic EMG sound that bridges the gap between active and passive. Package Includes EMG's exclusive Solderless Install System: 1 active tone pot (VLPF) 1 push/pull pot 1 battery bus 1 stereo output jack 1 two pickup in/out bus 1 pair mounting screws and springs 1 pickup cable 2 connect cables 1 output cable 1 battery cable EMG warranty:All EMG Pickups and accessories are warranted for a period of two years.
