A classic vintage American woodworking tool with plenty of character. This cast-metal bench plane measures approximately 9 inches long and features a traditional wooden front knob and sculpted rear tote. The body is marked: MADE IN U.S.A. I do not see a clearly identifiable manufacturer's name or model number, so I am listing the maker as unknown/unbranded rather than guessing at the manufacturer. Its approximately 9-inch size is consistent with the general size of a traditional No. 4-style smoothing plane, commonly used for smoothing and finishing wood surfaces. Whether restored for use, added to a vintage tool collection, or displayed in a woodworking shop, this is an appealing example of a traditional American hand tool from an earlier era.
