This high-end fine bone china set features a breathtaking pearlescent finish that beautifully reflects the light with a soft, rainbow-like sheen. The exterior of the cup and the surface of the saucer are adorned with a delicate hand-applied transfer motif of purple cottage violets and soft green foliage. The design is heavily elevated by a striking, ornate gold-gilded handle and rich gold trim accentuating the scalloped rims. The cup elegantly rests upon a scalloped, ringed pedestal foot, giving it a classic and regal silhouette. True to high-quality export porcelain from the 1950s and 1960s, the underside of both pieces is cleanly stamped "Made in Japan." This sophisticated styling is highly characteristic of premium mid-century importers such as Metasco, Royal Sealy, and Lefton, who decorated their fine factory pieces with delicate foil stickers that often dissolved over time. Whether displayed in a china cabinet or used for an elegant high tea, this exceptional set brings timeless vintage luxury to any setting. CONDITION REPORT Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The iridescent luster glaze is bright and beautiful. The gold trim and ornate handle show [minimal/no] signs of wear, consistent with age and careful storage. Please review all high-resolution photos to appreciate the stunning finish and fine details of this set.
