The 1908 Model T hadn't yet changed everything. And the Stanley Steamer was the most technologically sophisticated vehicle on American roads. Couroc of Monterey's craftsmen captured this golden moment of early American motoring in characteristic style — three historic automobiles rendered in hand-inlaid natural materials against their signature satin black phenolic resin. The 1902 Autocar Runabout takes the center position, largest of the three, depicted in warm gold-yellow tones with a fringed canopy top and spoked wheels in crisp wire detail. The 1908 Stanley Steamer occupies the lower left in warm rose-red, its open touring body and elegant profile unmistakable. The 1908 Model T Ford appears at lower right in soft blue-grey, capturing the angular dignity of the car that democratized American transportation.
