Description

View Made In Japan Fender Jazz Bass E-Series 1984-1987 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This is a cool gigging bass. It had a period correct bridge on it when I got it that will be included. This is a great playing bass that sounds great. These early Japanese made Fenders are known for their quality and playability. This is a cool gigging bass. I'm not the original owner but can tell this bass was played, maybe not loved, before I got it.It had been modified a good bit before I got it and then I made some changes before I started gigging with it. Here's what I know:Previous Mods:- Original bridge removed, replaced with something that needed three new holes (see pic). It had a period correct bridge on it when I got it that will be included. - One pot had failed so it was wired with a single master volume and a single master tone- Bridge pickup wasn't work and had been disconnected. - Finish on back of neck gone, probably lightly sanded- Pickguard was goneMods I've made- Installed Seymour Duncan pickups. Originals are long gone and not included with this auction. - Installed new pots in a Volume, Blend, Tone configuration. Originals are long gone. - New aftermarket pickguard. Original long gone. - Dunlop strap locks. Original strap buttons included. - Gotoh Bridge, uses original holes and covers 3 extra holes. A period correct bridge will be included with sale.It still has all the original ground plates including the little ground strap that goes from the bridge pickup grounding plate to the bridge. Thin neck, low action and plenty of fret wear left. Frets look good enough that it's possible it was refretted at some point, but I'm not certain. This is a great playing bass that sounds great. These early Japanese made Fenders are known for their quality and playability. And this one has clearly been played. Probably not for a collector, but if you want a bass with a cool history, maybe this is for you. Will ship well packaged and in a cheapy soft case. Note on Shipping Times: I sometimes have to go out of town for work so depending on when you purchase from me, it may be up to 4 days before I can ship.
