Fender Custom Shop represents the pinnacle of the Fender brand, creating exceptional instruments crafted with uncompromising attention to detail. While it features a simple style with a black finish and "New Old Stock" (NOS) specifications, the contrast between the anodized pickguard and the maple neck gives it a striking and beautiful appearance. It is constructed with a traditional flat-sawn one-piece maple neck and an alder body. The neck features a "Soft V" profile that offers a substantial, satisfying grip. Weighing in at approximately 4.19kg (without the pickup fence and bridge cover attached), it falls well within the average range for a standard 4-string model. It also incorporates a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, providing a modern playing feel. Regarding electronics, it is equipped with a '57 P-Bass pickup. Unlike "staggered pole piece" pickups—where the D-string pole piece protrudes significantly—the pole pieces here are relatively uniform in height across all strings, offering a more familiar and balanced playing experience. With its NOS specification, this instrument offers the joy of breaking it in and letting it mature through extensive playing over time—both in terms of looks and sound. We invite you to consider this fine instrument. *This item is offered at a special outlet price due to minor blemishes, such as "hanger burn" or small scratches, at the base of the neck. *As the instrument was shipped from the factory with the pickup and bridge covers installed, there are visible marks left by the covers, despite the NOS specification. This does not affect normal playability.
