Her molded composition face has delicate hand-painted features: dark eyes, arched brows, rosy cheeks, and a small red mouth. She wears a pale blue cotton top with a fluffy white collar, a soft pink cotton skirt, yellow cotton legs, and bright red boots. A green cotton cape or shawl falls behind her shoulders. Her arms are stretched out to the sides, holding long thin objects wrapped with blue-green thread — possibly knitting needles or a skein of yarn — suggesting she is knitting or holding a thread.Made in the classic pre-war German technique that collectors love: wire frame, wrapped and molded cotton batting, with a molded composition face and delicate period hand-painting.
