The Nativity on his robe is the most demanding part of the painting. Joseph wears a red cloak, and the stable is built of stone, with straw in a wooden manger. A white dove glides down from one corner, and a small white bird sits on the edge of the manger. This wooden Santa wears a long cream and gold robe, with the Holy Family painted across the front. Mary cradles the baby in a stable lit by the Star of Bethlehem, and Joseph leans in beside her.He starts as natural wood that has dried for several years. He is hand carved from solid natural wood and hand painted with water-based acrylics by a professional artist, who signs the base.DETAILS📏 Height 9 in (22 cm), width 4 in (10 cm)🪵 Hand carved from solid natural wood with hand tools🎨 Hand painted with water-based acrylics, front and back🧩 The staff lifts out of his mitten✍️ Signed by the artist, TYCHE ART STUDIO stamp on the base🇺🇦 Made by Tyche Art Studio, UkraineSHIPPING AND RETURNS🚚 Ships from Minnesota, USA: no customs, no overseas wait📦 Bubble wrapped in a sturdy box↩️ Free 30-day returnsABOUT THIS SANTAThe Nativity on his robe is the most demanding part of the painting. Joseph wears a red cloak, and the stable is built of stone, with straw in a wooden manger. A white dove glides down from one corner, and a small white bird sits on the edge of the manger. Faces, folds of cloth and light all sit on a curved robe, and painting them is days of work for the artist. The sack at his side has a scene of its own, a domed desert town among palm trees inside a beaded white border. Turn him around for gold panels filled with white vine scrollwork. Under his round cap with its frosted fur brim, a long wavy beard is carved with deep chisel grooves. His staff ends in a faceted tip, and you can lift it out when you pack him away. He stands 9 inches tall, a good size for a bookcase shelf, a side table or a hallway ledge. A cream and gold Santa who carries the Christmas story on his robe and his sack. Condition: New.
