The battery box remains on the back of the body, but there is no battery snap.The controls, now in passive mode, are a simple front volume, rear volume, and tone configuration, but a mini-switch has been added. When this is turned on (up), the two pickups are wired in series, producing a powerful humbucker-like sound.
