Three barrels together span 2.50" wide so your bridge needs to be at least that wide inside to fit these barrels, most bridges are. But Leo was also CHEAP! Is Upgrading a Budget Guitar Worth It?. No more SLIDING STRINGS! Three Each Spiral Thread Grooved Brass Saddles for Telecaster/Tele Bridges Three each HIGH QUALITY grooved barrel BRASS saddles for Telecaster type three saddle bridges. Each barrel is .825" or 7/8" long and .250" or 1/4" in diameter with grooves threaded the WHOLE length. Three barrels together span 2.50" wide so your bridge needs to be at least that wide inside to fit these barrels, most bridges are. Three Phillips head machine screws with three springs are supplied for the three saddles along with six SLOT HEAD height adjustment screws, two are .370" long and four are .425" long to follow fretboard radius when you set string heights! AND the bottom of the height screws is rounded SO IT WON'T SCRATCH the finish of your bridge! The SLOT HEAD (vice hex socket) on the height screws is a tribute to early Telecasters and a small screwdriver is supplied! These saddles LOOK GREAT on your guitar! They are BRASS for that classic Tele twang and tone plus there are grooves in the barrel where your strings can sit happily and YOUR STRINGS SPACING IS FIXED! No more SLIDING STRINGS! Unlike smooth saddle cylinders, your strings cannot slide from side to side, ruining your string spacing and adding chatter and gosh knows what else to your sound! PLUS if you choose to BEND your intonation screw a bit to give one string more length than the next, the strings will stay put, can't do that with smooth cylinders! It is widely acknowledged that Leo Fender was a genius when he invented the Telecaster type guitar. But Leo was also CHEAP! When he designed the classic three barrel Tele bridge he made it CHEAP to manufacture, three cylinders that could be made on any lathe each with a threaded center hole, two threaded side holes and stock screws and springs. The PROBLEM is one saddle cylinder had to cover the intonation of TWO DIFFERENT STRINGS. The six strings on ANY guitar are all different diameters, the bass E string is thickest, the treble E string the thinnest. Suppose a typical Tele string set is .10, .13, .17, .26, .36 and .46 string thickness in inches. The E & B string saddle barrel has to compensate for the difference between .10 and .13 so .03 inches, not a lot. The G & D string saddle barrel has to compensate for the difference between .17 and .26 so .09 inches! Then when you get to the A and bass E barrel it has to compensate for the difference of .10 inch! By adjusting the intonation screw on each saddle you can AT BEST split the difference! The veteran Tele guitarists solve the problem by BENDING the intonation screw a bit to make the intonation SPOT ON TARGET! See Zac Childs and his "Ask Zac" videos on YouTube. But you can't do it with a smooth barrel because the strings will slip! These saddles are SPIRAL GROOVED THREADED to give your saddle barrel a great grip on the string! https://www.askzac.com/Ask Zac!Ask Zac! https://youtu.be/ZjOYMJBKu8o?si=DOFv6quO4-gWIs0wAsk Zac! https://youtu.be/F21pAT5wKtw?si=lirn3pnE5DGla-fx3 Upgrades that make EVERY Telecaster sound & play betterhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zv3dPnBCKcIs Upgrading a Budget Guitar Worth It?
