This is my original bass from 1969…got it from a friend for a trade for my 12 string. Fender Precision Bass GuitarThis is my original bass from 1969…got it from a friend for a trade for my 12 stringguitar that he wanted…it was Dakota Red with matching headstock all original…went immediately to Ace music in Miami and bought a new hard case so the case is a 1969 in excellent shape…played it for 5 years in Miami before moving to Europe with it and myRed Epiphone Rivoli bass while playing in a country rock band, The SunshineCowboys,…landed in Paris and thru a friend , Artie Kornfeld, we met up with Claus Pascal head of RCA Europe…he advised us that since there was not a great market in Paris at that moment for CountryRock music there we , should consider going to Amsterdam , way more gigs, rock ‘n roll, etc…went there for a long 4 month weekend with gigs and EVERYTHING else you’ve heard about, yep…so after a bunch of gigs in Amsterdam MELKWEG, PARADISO and more , the season closed down and it got cold so thru a friend we went where there were no country bands …we ended up, Germany, and since we had played a bunch of country in Miami, when country wasn’t cool, so we were right at home in the military clubs that wanted country music…since i had a red Epiphine rivoli bass i wanted a natural wood looking bass appropriate for a country band so i sanded the dakota red lacquer off…ARRRGG…Oh well…and after that i wanted a fret less sound si i had the frets removed by one of the best german luthiers and he replaced the fretboard with ebony…GREAT?…and painted it lacquer black…Oh Well again…so finally in 2000 had it brought back to dakota red by the fender rep here in florida…and put the frets back in…It is a 1958/59 real Precision with original parts except in the above description…I have the correct decal but have applied it…the story is much longer but…you can’t make this shit up…!
