Description [Used] Fender Japan / TL72-55M (CTL-50M) BLK [3.56kg / 1984 - 1987] This is a Fender Japan Telecaster (model TL72-53) from the 1984–1987 period (E-serial, manufactured by Fujigen). It follows the 1972-style specifications, featuring a "modern" logo, two string guides, and a 3-saddle chrome bridge. (Internal stamps: "CTL-50M" on the neck and "CTL-50" on the body.) The guitar is constructed with a Sen (Japanese ash) body and a maple neck with a 184mm (7.25") radius fretboard. It features a 4-bolt neck joint, GOTOH rotomatic-style tuners, and vintage-style Japanese-made pickups. Known for its solid, tight tone, this simple yet highly popular Telecaster model is an excellent choice, including for guitarists who also provide vocals. Modifications include a replacement 1-ply, 5-screw pickguard, a Strat-style pickup selector knob, and a replaced nut.
