Please see pictures.Introduced in 1930, the 720 & 750 line of Hickory Leather Capped Handled Paring and Butt Chisels became famous among Woodworkers as a perfect blend of muscle and finesse. Unlike Metal Capped Tang Chisels that were made for heavy duty blows with metal hammers, the more delicate 750 required a wooden shop mallet. I can recall the scolding I got anytime I was tempted to use a hammer on a 720 or 750 during my formative years, "hammers are for driving nails, in the cabinet shop, mallets are for chisels." The USA Made Stanley 750 was discontinued in 1969 and was revived in 2010 and 2016 for a limited offering of British made chisels with Hornbeam handles.
