A lot of two Stanley FBB179 ball bearing door hinges, both steel and both 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". One is steel with a satin brass-tone finish, stamped "FBB 179" and "Made in USA," with a set screw in the barrel that locks the pin in place. The other is steel with a brushed finish, stamped "FBB179" and "Made in China." Both are stamped "Stanley" on the opposite leaf. The FBB179 is Stanley's commercial-grade standard weight hinge, built with two permanently lubricated ball bearings for a smooth, quiet swing and a long service life. Each has five knuckles, square corners, and a full mortise design for interior or exterior doors on wood or hollow metal frames. Stanley has made door hardware since 1843 in New Britain, Connecticut, and its commercial line is a staple in schools, offices, and other high-traffic buildings. The USA-made example comes from Stanley's domestic production, which is getting harder to find. A great pick for replacing a hinge or matching an existing finish.Measurements: 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" each.Condition: Pre-owned. Both show scratches and wear to the finish from use. The brass hinge has some darkening on the knuckle ends and a few small spots on the leaves. The steel hinge has small rust spots along the edges and knuckle ends. See photos for details.
