The Concept: The "Lightning 534" theme captures the electrical energy of New York City. The name specifically nods to the intersection of 5th Avenue and 34th Street—the site of the Empire State Building, which behaves like a giant lightning rod during heavy thunderstorms. The Colors: Formally styled as Cave Purple/Hyper Grape-Magnet Grey-Bleached Turquoise. The rich, dark purple upper mirrors a stormy night sky, while the bright bleached turquoise accents on the Swoosh and tongue represent the striking visual flash of lightning. 📐Sizing This specific pair is a Grade School (GS) youth size 6Y: US Youth Size: 6Y (Equivalent to a US Women's size 7.5)• Manufacturing Details: Produced in Vietnam (Date of manufacture code: 08/11/14).🛠️ Key Technical FeaturesThe KD 7 model famously blended the flexibility needed for a quick guard with the locked-in stability required for a power forward:• Hybrid Material Construction: The front half features lightweight, breathable engineered mesh with hidden Dynamic Flywire cables to wrap the midfoot securely. The back half features structured Hyperposite material wrapping around the ankle and heel to give strong lockdown protection.• Midfoot Strap: Marking the return of a design element heavily favored in the older KD 4 model, the midfoot strap helps secure the foot during explosive side-to-side cuts.• Weather-Map Traction: The rubber outsole on the bottom utilizes a data-mapped pattern molded to look like a shifting weather radar system, maximizing multi-directional court grip. The Nike KD7 features a storytelling traction pattern similar to a weather map, providing excellent grip and durability for outdoor use due to its thicker groove.
