The figure is modeled with a wonderfully expressive face, deeply formed beard, detailed winter clothing and a package or basket held at the waist. A surviving flash of vivid red decoration appears along one side, complemented by mellow silver and gold tones developed over generations of holiday display. ✨ Its compact sculptural form recalls the imaginative figural ornaments traditionally associated with the German glassmaking centers, particularly the celebrated ornament workshops of the Lauscha region. 🌟 Collector’s highlights Antique mold-blown figural glass ornament Father Christmas, Santa or Belsnickle form Likely German manufacture Approximately 1920s–1930s Thin silvered glass, often called “mercury glass” by collectors Hand-painted facial details and surviving red accents Unusual full-bodied character mold Original-style wire suspension and vintage hanging cord Charming authentic appearance that cannot be duplicated by modern reproductions 📏 Measurements Height: approximately 3.5 inches Width: approximately 1.75 inches 🔎 Identification The ornament appears to represent a traditional German Father Christmas or Belsnickle figure.
