Description

View Stanley No. 112 Scraper Plane Vintage Cast Iron Wood Handles Woodworking Tool with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This one has a cast-iron body, a black painted bed, a ground steel sole and sides, a dark stained hardwood tote and knob with brass screws, and a clamp with a brass thumbscrew that holds the blade in place. This is a vintage No. 112 scraper plane with the number cast into the bed in front of the tote. A scraper plane holds a flat scraper blade at a steep angle, so it can smooth difficult grain, figured wood, and glue-ups without tearing the surface the way a regular plane can. This one has a cast-iron body, a black painted bed, a ground steel sole and sides, a dark stained hardwood tote and knob with brass screws, and a clamp with a brass thumbscrew that holds the blade in place. Two brass knurled nuts on a threaded rod behind the blade control its tilt.Condition is good, with honest wear. The black paint is worn and chipped in places, mostly around the edges of the bed. The sole and sides are bare gray steel with some light surface rust and spotting, most visible near the toe, and a small brass-colored spot on one side. The blade is clean and bright with light pitting and a few small marks. The tote has some wear and small cracks at the top near the screw hole, and the knob has scratches and marks. The brass parts are tarnished but intact. The photos show the whole plane from several angles, plus the casting, the sole, the mouth, the blade, and the adjusters, so please look them over and ask if you would like extra pictures. This is a used vintage tool sold as pictured. It has not been sharpened, set up, or tested. Condition: Used. Category: Collectibles › Tools, Hardware & Locks › Tools › Carpentry, Woodworking › Planes. Brand: Stanley.
