Stanley No. 71 router plane, made in Sheffield, England, and offered with its original box, hang tag and instruction leaflet. The router plane is the tool woodworkers use to level the bottoms of dados, grooves, hinge mortises and recesses to a precise, even depth. This one is a complete set with three cutters, the fence, the cutter clamp and spare screws, all shown laid out in the photos. The cast body is marked "STANLEY", "No. 71" and "MADE IN ENG.", and both black knobs are in place. The body has an even olive-green finish with scattered light rust specks along the edges and a bright nickel-plated top. The depth stem has some surface rust, and the cutters show light rust and storage wear, so the cutting edges will need honing before use. The black knobs have scuffs but are solid. The yellow Stanley tag is still attached with its original string. The leaflet is spotted and aged but complete and legible. The box is stained and worn, with a torn bottom edge and "ROUTER PLANE" written on the end in marker, all visible in the photos. The plane looks complete and appears to have had little use, but I can't verify that, so please judge it from the photos. Please study all the photos, which are part of the description, and message me with any questions before buying. Ships carefully packed. Condition: Used.
