Vintage 1955 Stanley Landers Frary Clark Insulated Pitcher Hup Carafe Hot ColdThis vintage mid-century, art deco style heavy-duty insulated beverage pitcher manufactured by Stanley (Landers, Frary & Clark) is preowned and is in fair/good condition for the right person. The item has a bright and shiny silver tone plating (chrome) and is very reflective. The top features a fully functional flip-top hinged lid. The bottom is explicitly stamped with the official Stanley "It Will Not Break" hallmarks alongside the historical 3-55 (March 1955) production date code. The base remains highly polished and fully legible. This item also features a custom vintage front engraving that reads "HUP" ideal for collectors of historic hotel silver, diner history, or transportation memorabilia. We are unsure of the HUP meaning, some believe it is for the Hupp/Hup Hotel in Colorado while others think this may be initials for a fraternal or other organization. Conditional issues are surface pitting, surface scratching, discolorations on the metal inside (though intact), some roughness on the inside top groove where the lid sits along with signs of use, wear and handling. This is a heavy item at about 1 & 3/4 lbs. This is an item that is best suited for someone who enjoys older, vintage items which may have flaws and imperfections but have character, history and some mystery too. We invite you to review our photos for the best views of the item and to see any of the conditional issues mentioned above. We welcome questions & hope that you can browse our store sale and items at auction this week!
