Neck Shape 55 P-Bass Soft "V". The Fender Custom Shop 1956 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic in Fiesta Red is a beautifully crafted tribute to the formative years of Fender's legendary P Bass. Its roasted two-piece off-center ash body follows the 1955 P-Bass style and is finished in striking Fiesta Red, combining vintage character with the refined construction of the Custom Shop. At 8 lbs 9 oz, it has the substantial feel and resonant presence expected from a serious vintage-inspired Precision Bass. The quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard feature a classic 1955 P-Bass Soft "V" profile, a 7.25 inch radius, and Vintage Upgrade 45085 frets. The combination delivers an authentic early Fender feel while offering a comfortable and responsive playing surface. The natural beauty of the quartersawn maple complements the bold Fiesta Red finish and reinforces the instrument's distinctly vintage appearance. A Hand-Wound '55 P-Bass pickup provides the unmistakable foundation of the instrument's voice, delivering deep, focused lows, powerful fundamental, and articulate midrange with the dynamic response associated with an early Precision Bass. Its simple single-pickup configuration stays true to the essential P Bass formula, allowing the instrument's resonance and natural character to shine through. The period-inspired details include a 1-Ply Parchment pickguard, Chrome/Nickel hardware, a 1955 P-Bass Relic bridge, and Vintage 1955 Precision Bass Style Relic tuning keys. With its Journeyman Relic treatment, roasted ash construction, quartersawn maple neck, hand-wound pickup, and classic Fiesta Red finish, this Custom Shop 1956 Precision Bass offers a compelling combination of early Fender character, authentic vintage styling, and exceptional craftsmanship.
