DescriptionFender Custom Shop 1966 Journeyman Relic Jazz Bass 3-COLOR Sunburst Used BassThis 1966 Jazz Bass, a transitional model from 1966, is reproduced with the precision of the Fender Custom Shop. This is a 2016 Jazz Bass with a Journeyman Relic finish.It features a two-piece alder body, a quarter-sawn maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard, resulting in an authentic vintage style. It incorporates transitional features such as neck binding, dot position markers, and lollipop-type tuners, and the combination of a 4-ply brown tortoiseshell pickguard and 3-color sunburst finish gives it a mid-60s look.The rosewood fingerboard has a calm color with fine grain, and the pickguard shows a nice aged look. The moderate aging of the Journeyman Relic finish adds to the overall effect, giving it a natural feel as if it has been cherished for many years, rather than an overly worn appearance.It is equipped with two cross-wire type Jazz Bass pickups. This bass features a vintage-style 4-saddle bridge and lollipop tuners, creating a traditional configuration reminiscent of a 1966 Jazz Bass.The 34-inch scale, 60s U-shaped neck, and 9.5-inch radius fingerboard offer excellent playability. The original pickup fence, bridge cover, and finger rest are included and installed.This bass, a Custom Shop-finished version of the distinctive 1966 Jazz Bass specifications, is adapted for modern playing conditions. The 3-Color Sunburst and Brown Tortoise finish combination is particularly appealing, making it a highly recommended model for those who appreciate mid-60s Jazz Basses.There are visible marks on the body near the truss rod adjustment area under the pickguard. It appears this was done to allow truss rod adjustment with the neck attached by removing the pickguard.As the bass already has a relic finish, it's difficult to distinguish between these marks and later-acquired scratches or wear and tear.
