Structurally intact with exceptional antique character and untouched patina. Description An exceptional antique silvered glass teardrop Christmas ornament dating to approximately 1910–1930, featuring delicate hand applied wire wrapping and a garland or tinsel band encircling the center. This elegant elongated ornament features a hand applied wire cage wrapping over delicate mercury glass, a reinforcement technique strongly associated with early German Lauscha ornament production. The softly oxidized champagne silvering and fine wirework create a dramatic candlelit appearance rarely found in surviving examples today. The ornament retains it's original metal cap and hanging loop and displays beautifully with unmistakable early antique character.
