TONE MONSTER JB4ANECK & BRIDGE SETPICKUPS ARE NOT "ONE SIZE FITS ALL".PLEASE REFERENCE THE PICKUP DIMENSIONS IN THE AUCTION PHOTOS.High output or overwound pickups are great especially in a passive bass, but we have found lower to medium output along with a quality preamp gives you even more clarity and dynamics. They allow the preamp to do the work adding the dBs and tone control. With a 6K Ω (±5%) neck and 6.3K Ω (±5%) bridge, the JB4A set gives you fast attack, tight low end, and plenty of top-end detail that stays clear even with heavy-handed playing. Our JBA4 and JBA5 pickups use Alnico V magnets paired with poly-coated 42 AWB wire, delivering a slightly more focused, present voice than vintage plain-enamel winds while still keeping that familiar J-style growl and snap. The lower DC resistance means less congestion in the mids, so chords stay articulate, ghost notes speak easily, and your preamp and pedals do more of the shaping instead of fighting a muddy front end.We highly recommend the JB4A or JB5A sets be paired which one of our SEB or SBP Series preamps which feature a gain (level) trim potentiometer that allows you the adjust the incoming signal.
