I replace the string trees with white Tusq versions for better string gliding as this material is used for good quality nuts! Here’s another electric guitar I purchased from Sweetwater to brand and resell. This Stratocaster has common Strat electronics; however, the bridge pickup is a humbucker and the bridge itself is a top loading non- tremolo bridge (like those used on Telecasters). It has a 21-fret maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. This version of Stratocasters are perfect for those players not interested in a tremolo.My branding changes and additions are as follows:As one might expect, all guitars generally need some fret work, a setup, and proper shielding in the control cavities. I take care of all appropriate guitar maintenance in the initial part of my brandingI replace the tuner buttons with red pearloid versions to blend better with the rest of the colors of the instrumentI replace the string trees with white Tusq versions for better string gliding as this material is used for good quality nuts!I add “Safety Lock” strap button locking washers (red is this case) to help prevent guitar straps from coming off unexpectedly. I also add white felt washer underneath the strap buttons to protect the guitar's finishI replace the pick guard with a graphic Greasy Groove “Pin-Up” theme version which I add copper tape shielding to on the back side (Greasy Groove replacement pick guards do not have shielding underneath, so it must be added to avoid feedback and grounding issues. Additionally, the humbucker routing socket is expanded to support the new angling of the humbucker (so, naturally any removed black shielding paint from within the control cavity was replaced) I replace the pot knobs with those which blend better with all the colors of the instrument. I use a unique pot knob for the master volume and two matching pot knobs for the two volume pots. Additionally, I add identifier washers to provide a starting and stopping reference point for the pot knobs scale (0-10)I replace the 5-way toggle switch tip with a red version to better blend with the colors of the instrumentI add a bridge/saddles cover to protect them while providing a safe place for the player to rest their hand while playing. This cover does not need to be removed for restringing (all one needs to do is loosen one screw/side and remove the other side screw so you can swing the bridge cover out of the way). It’s my experience that it’s just a matter of time before the saddles become all gummed up with dirt/gunk if there is no cover when the player rests their hand against the bridge & saddles The guitar is strung up with a new set of nickel 10s (48,36,26,18P,14,10). However, if the purchaser prefers a different gauge, I will include an additional string set of the preferred gauge. I include an appropriate gig bag and cover the shipping costs. My pricing is based on my costs to acquire the instrument and do my branding changes & additions, without labor, posting, or shipping costs! Hence, my pricing is really as low as I should go. However, my posts do accept offers! I'm retired now, branding guitars is something I enjoy doing!
