View Early Stanley No 8 Jointer Plane, Type 5, first Lateral, excellent condition with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. For sale is the first edition of the Lateral lever on a No 8 Stanley plane. This plane was made roughly between 1885 and 1888 and still retains most of its original japanning. The plane has beautiful patina and sports a small previous owners mark on one cheek. It’s on the left hand side and I believe says C E Dyke(picture 24) The plane has been cleaned and waxed. The biggest knock it has is having a sweetheart blade instead of the proper early blade and maybe the mouth was filed open. Condition is as pictured.
