This flower is very popular, and it is gladly grown by both growers on private farmsteads and specialists on an industrial scale. Such a cute flower comes from Central Asia, and the name tulip comes from the Persian word "turban", as the flower itself has a similar shape to it. This flower was first grown in Persia, where many poets, and especially Hafiz, paid great attention to it. However, in Turkey, tulips have gained special popularity, as they were grown in large quantities by the sultan's spouses in seraglio. In a kind of competition, the women tried to prove their boundless love. In Europe, or rather, in Augsburg, such plants began to be grown since 1554, and it was from that time that they slowly began to spread throughout European territory, gaining more and more popularity every year. Titled people also began to collect various varieties of tulips. They gave fabulous money for a new variety of such a flower. These indefatigable collectors included Cardinal Richelieu, Count Pappenheim, Voltaire, Emperor Franz II and Louis XVIII, who loved to organize so-called "tulip festivals" in Versailles. However, the tulip was most revered in those days in the very rich country of Holland. So, 1630 was distinguished by the fact that at that time in the Netherlands almost every inhabitant was fond of breeding such plants. Many bred completely new varieties and sold them to various countries for a lot of money. Speculators did not stay away. And soon a rather complicated situation arose, called "tulip mania." The purchase and sale of bulbs of these flowers was carried out daily and almost all residents participated in it. They were also traded on stock exchanges, while lawyers did not have time to come up with new trading rules in a timely manner. As a result, the cost of bulbs reached unprecedented heights... and then everything collapsed. And the end was as sudden as the beginning. So, the demand became much less than the supply, and this led to a panic on the stock exchange. The Dutch Government had to step in to resolve the situation. Thus, as a result of the new law, the trade in tulip bulbs has become illegal. And after some time, tulips regained their former status as cute spring flowers. The height of the tulip varies from 10 to 100 cm. Adventitious roots grow from the bottom of the bulbs, and they represent the root system of this plant. Every year, these roots die off. Young bulbs have hollow stolons. ― these are lateral shoots that can grow vertically downwards or laterally. The daughter bulb appears at the bottom of these shoots. The erect stem has a cylindrical shape. There is a coating of wax on the surface of the lanceolate-elongated regularly arranged leaflets, which causes their color to acquire a greenish-bluish hue. At the very top is the smallest leaf plate, called the flag sheet. And at the bottom is the largest leaf. As a rule, the plant has 1 flower. But there are species that grow from 3 to 5 or even more flowers. They have the correct shape. The perianth consists of 6 leaves, while there are as many stamens with elongated anthers. The most common color of the flower is red, the more rare is yellow, and the most rare is white. Varietal tulips can be painted in a variety of colors. So, there are purple, yellow, almost black, red, snow-white, purple. There are also varieties in which the flowers can be colored in several different color shades, while there are a lot of variations in their combinations. The flowers can also have a variety of shapes, namely: goblet-shaped, oval, star-shaped, cup-shaped, lily-shaped, peony-shaped, fringed, etc. The size of the flowers also depends on the variety. So, there are flowers about 12 centimeters long, while their diameter can vary from 3 to 10 centimeters, and during full disclosure it reaches 20 centimeters. The buds open at a time when the sun is shining in the sky, and they close in the evening. In cloudy weather, the flowers do not open at all. After the plant blooms, a fruit is formed, which is a box with 3 sides. It has triangular brownish-yellow flat seeds inside. Delivery is carried out worldwide within 5 weeks.
